Professor Basky Thilaganathan
Basky Thilaganathan is Director of Fetal Medicine at St George’s Hospital. He is also the Clinical Lead for the first dedicated high-throughput cfDNA screening NHS lab to undertake NIPT in pregnancy (www.theSAFEtest.co.uk).
His research interests are placental dysfunction and preeclampsia (TED talk: http://bit.ly/2i1SqDk). He is the lead trainer for the MFM sub-speciality training programme at St George’s and was Editor-in Chief of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from 2010 to 2018. He has authored over 300 peer-reviewed publications.
He is a RCOG Council Member and sits on the UK National Screening Committee. He is the Director of the newly formed Tommy's National Centre for Maternity Improvement.
